Workshop Summary:
This workshop will cover basic information on types of dementia, physiological and behavioral changes, latest information on treatments and research. Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias have a profound effect on individual family members as well as the person with dementia. Support groups for caregivers have been found to be an important component of care. Following the talk, will be a panel discussion with support group participants and facilitators. These experts will provide a unique perspective on the effects of the disease and offer clinicians new approaches to working with individuals with the disease and their family caregivers.
