Workshop Summary:
Nearly 23.6 million people in the US have diabetes, and chances
are, you’re working with a client who has this challenging
medical condition. Join us for this training especially designed
for staff working in community–based care settings for older
adults and people with disabilities. We’ll cover the basics
about diabetes, including what diabetes is and how it affects a
person’s body and overall well-being. We’ll also talk about how
to effectively and safely assist people with diabetes to manage
their own health.
Presenter:
Kathy Moisio, RN, BSN
Kathy has many years experience working with elders in a variety
of settings as nurse and program manager. She has developed a
state-wide training curriculum for nursing assistants who are
caring for older and disabled adults with diabetes.
CEUs:
This program meets accreditation standards for CNEs (3.8 hrs) for
nurses Professional Guardian Board (3.5 hours); & NASW-WA. This
program has been Approved for 3.8 CEUs by the NASW Washington
